Iwobi on Brink of History as Super Eagles Star Eyes 100th Cap Against Portugal

Alex Iwobi is on the verge of a major career milestone, as the midfielder is expected to make his 100th appearance for the Super Eagles in Wednesday’s international friendly against Portugal national football team.

The 30-year-old, who currently has 99 caps, is poised to join an exclusive group of Nigerian internationals who have reached the century mark, including Ahmed Musa, Joseph Yobo and Vincent Enyeama.

Iwobi has been a consistent figure in the national team setup for over a decade, having earned his debut in a friendly match against the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2015.

Before committing his international future to Nigeria, the Fulham F.C. playmaker represented England at youth level.

His anticipated milestone appearance underscores his longevity and importance within the Super Eagles squad as they prepare for another test on the international stage.
