Florentino Perez has secured another term as president of Real Madrid after winning a majority of votes in the club’s latest election.

The 79-year-old, who has led the club across two different spells, received about 65 per cent of votes cast by club members, defeating challenger Enrique Riquelme.
Following his re-election, Perez stated that his administration would continue focusing on sustaining the club’s competitive success and global stature.
The outcome of the election is expected to usher in the return of Jose Mourinho as head coach, with an official announcement anticipated shortly.
Mourinho, who previously managed the Spanish side between 2010 and 2013, is set to rejoin the club after more than a decade away. During his earlier tenure, he guided the team to a La Liga title, Copa del Rey triumph, and Spanish Super Cup victory.
Reports indicate that Madrid will pay a significant release fee to secure his services from his current club.
Perez also emphasised pride in the club’s infrastructure and playing squad, reiterating ambitions to restore the team to consistent title-winning form after recent trophy setbacks.
