Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has rejected her reported inclusion in the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 elections.
Her name appeared among 33 entertainers listed under the council’s Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate, alongside actors and musicians including Jide Kosoko, Eniola Badmus, Adebayo Salami, Bukky Wright, Pasuma, Saheed Osupa, Small Doctor, and Malaika.
Reacting on her Instagram Story on Thursday, Abraham said she was not a member of the campaign council and asked the public to disregard her reported inclusion.
“I’m not a member of any campaign council. I have said it recently: I am staying out of politics. Please disregard the supposed inclusion of my name in any campaign committee,” she wrote.
The actress later clarified that she was not responding to online criticism, saying she woke up to find her name on a list she knew nothing about.
“I did it because it was the right thing to do. I woke up and saw my name on a list I knew absolutely nothing about. Moreover, I’ve already said it: I’m not interested in politics,” she said in a response shared on X.
Despite her rejection, her name remained on the published campaign council document as of Friday. The Lagos APC campaign council lists Toke Benson-Awoyinka as Director of the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate, with Jide Kosoko as Co-Director and Eniola Badmus as Deputy Director.
