2027: Radda Charges APC Leaders on Unity, Grassroots Mobilization

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has inaugurated the Tinubu/Dikko 2027 Campaign Council, urging All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and supporters to prioritise unity, reconciliation and grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Governor Radda, who chairs the council, gave the charge during its inauguration at the new APC State Secretariat in Katsina, stressing that electoral success would depend on effective coordination across the state’s 34 local government areas and 361 wards.

He urged party leaders, elected officials and candidates to return to their constituencies, engage voters and resolve internal disagreements, warning against taking the electorate’s support for granted.

The governor also called for coordinated campaigns to secure President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and victory for APC candidates contesting governorship, National Assembly and State Assembly seats.

The campaign council’s Director-General, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, said the party would build on its performance in the 2023 elections through wider consultation, stronger coordination and increased grassroots participation.

Dangiwa also claimed that the Radda administration had fulfilled more than 70 percent of its promises made during consultations across the state’s 361 wards. He urged party members to put collective interests above personal ambitions.

The council’s Deputy Director-General for Operations, Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, announced that campaigns would commence on October 28, 2026.

He said the party planned to strengthen mobilization at polling-unit, ward and local government levels, increasing polling-unit representatives from nine to 30, with at least 10 women represented in each unit.

Other party leaders, including APC State Chairman Bishir Gambo Saulawa, former Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika and Minister of Art, Culture and Tourism Hannatu Musa Musawa, pledged support for the campaign and called for unity among party stakeholders.

Local government chairmen and lawmakers also promised coordinated grassroots mobilization to promote the party’s candidates and communicate its achievements to voters ahead of the elections.
