2027: Obi Holds Talks With UK Officials, Diaspora Nigerians

The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, says he has met with British government officials and Nigerians in the diaspora during a visit to London.

Obi disclosed this in a post on his X handle on Thursday, October 22, saying the engagements focused on Nigeria’s development, poor leadership, corruption, and lack of accountability.

He said he arrived in London from Basel, Switzerland, on Wednesday, October 21, before holding meetings with stakeholders in the United Kingdom.

The former Anambra State governor also attended a meeting organized by the COPDEM chief and the NDC Director of Diaspora Affairs, bringing together Nigerians and other stakeholders.

Obi said Nigeria must overcome poor leadership and ensure citizens have access to quality healthcare, education, and decent jobs.

He called for a country where hard work is rewarded and everyone has equal opportunities, regardless of background or connections.

“We must build a Nigeria where the child of nobody can become somebody without knowing anybody,” he said.
