Viral TikToker Peller Arraigned, Granted ₦500k Bail

A Magistrate’s court in Lagos has granted ₦500,000 bail to Nigerian TikToker Peller following his arraignment on charges of obstructing police officers.

Peller was released on Tuesday after spending four days in detention. He was arrested on Friday in the Lekki area after a confrontation with police officers.

According to police authorities, he was later transferred to Ikeja Police Station and charged alongside Bello Oladipo on three counts, including obstruction of police duties, conduct likely to breach public peace, and conspiracy to commit a felony.

The arrest followed a viral video in which Peller accused police officers of harassment over his use of a tinted vehicle without a license plate. He claimed the officers pulled his shirt, pointed a gun at him, and attempted to take him into custody despite his explanation that the vehicle was newly purchased.

The case has drawn public attention online, with mixed reactions over the conduct of both the police and the content creator.
