The interim leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by Chairman Kabiru Turaki, has held a closed-door meeting with former President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja amid the party’s ongoing leadership crisis.

The meeting, which took place at Jonathan’s residence in the Federal Capital Territory, is believed to be the PDP’s first major consultation following a recent Federal High Court ruling affecting the party’s internal dispute.
While no official statement was issued, sources said discussions focused on the implications of the court’s decision and possible steps forward. The court had earlier struck out a suit filed by the PDP’s Board of Trustees seeking to compel the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize the Turaki-led interim committee.
In his ruling, Justice Salim Ibrahim held that the plaintiffs lacked the legal standing to file the case and that the court had no jurisdiction, noting that INEC had already recognized a rival leadership following the party’s convention.
A party source said the delegation briefed Jonathan on the judgment and sought his guidance on resolving the crisis.
The meeting comes as the PDP intensifies efforts to stabilize its leadership and reposition ahead of future elections.
