Troops of Operation UDO KA have recovered an assault rifle and ammunition during a raid on a suspected cultist hideout in Obiakpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The operation was carried out on July 13 in Ogbogoro community by troops of the 34 Artillery Brigade, acting on credible intelligence.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, who disclosed the development on Tuesday via his X handle, the raid followed information provided by a suspected cult member previously arrested by security operatives.
During the operation, troops recovered one Beretta AR-70 assault rifle and 45 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition.
Sources added that efforts are ongoing to track down other members of the suspected criminal gang who fled the area.
