Nollywood actress and media personality Toke Makinwa has advised singles to date within their financial bracket to avoid unnecessary pressure in relationships.
Speaking on the MENtality podcast hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Toke Makinwa said financial incompatibility is a major cause of relationship challenges. She noted that dating within one’s income level promotes understanding, stability, and mutual support.
According to her, many men leave their financial comfort zone to pursue partners they cannot afford, only to later label women as materialistic. She added that such situations often lead to frustration and unhealthy relationship dynamics.
Toke Makinwa also addressed concerns about loyalty and success, stating that some men tend to change after attaining wealth. She argued that money does not change a person’s character but reveals their true nature.
