President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday presided over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the State House, Abuja, his first council meeting since June 29.
The meeting began with the national anthem after the President arrived at the Council Chamber around 2:30 p.m.
Those in attendance included Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; Head of the Civil Service, Didi Walson-Jack; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; ministers and other senior government officials.
The council observed a minute’s silence for two former ministers who recently died.
They were former Minister of Finance, Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji, who died on July 30, and former Minister of Science and Technology, Prof. Turner Isoun, who died on July 15 at the age of 87. Isoun served under former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
At the June 29 FEC meeting, Tinubu swore in Amina Gamawa, representing Bauchi State, and Abdullahi Mukhtar, representing Kaduna State, as Federal Commissioners of the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation, and Fiscal Commission.
Wednesday’s meeting is expected to consider key policy and administrative issues as the Federal Government continues to implement its economic reforms and development programs.
