RMD Reflects on Life at 65, Says He Feels Like He’s Living “Extra Time”

Nollywood veteran Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) says turning 65 feels like a second chance at life, as he reflects on aging, gratitude, and staying youthful.

Speaking on a recent episode of The Moraya Show, the actor revealed that he considers his current stage of life a bonus, noting that his parents did not live to 60.

“At 65, I feel like I’m living extra time,” he said. “My life is one of gratitude. I’m happy to be alive and Nigerian at this moment.”

RMD also highlighted the changing global work landscape, expressing appreciation for a time when more people are embracing self-employment.

On maintaining his youthful appearance and energy, the actor credited a healthy lifestyle and mindset. “I eat right and exercise,” he said, adding that he follows a guiding principle: “The only way for an old person to stay young is to never let the old person in.”

Known for his signature style, RMD said he remains intentional about his fashion choices despite his age. He shared that even his eldest child, now 43, sometimes reacts to his outfits, but he has no plans to change.

“There’s no way I’m going to give up now,” he said.

The actor’s remarks have resonated with fans, reinforcing his reputation as one of Nollywood’s most enduring and charismatic figures.
