Oyedele Leads Nigeria’s Delegation to IMF Meetings in Bangkok

Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, is leading Nigeria’s delegation to the 2026 annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group in Bangkok, Thailand.

The meetings, scheduled for October 12 to 18, will bring together representatives from more than 190 countries to discuss global economic growth, financial stability, and development challenges.

Nigeria’s delegation includes chief executives of financial institutions, private-sector representatives, civil society organizations, non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders.

Discussions will focus on the global economic outlook, financial stability, poverty reduction, inclusive growth, and reforms to the international financial system. Participants will also examine ways to support developing economies and address the economic effects of climate change.

The IMF is expected to release its World Economic Outlook and Global Financial Stability Report, which assess global economic prospects and risks to the financial system.
