NNPP Chairman Resigns, Leads New Political Platform in Osun

Dr Tosin Odeyemi has resigned as chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party in Osun State and has been appointed acting state chairman of the newly formed Democratic Leadership Alliance.

In a resignation letter dated July 16, 2026, and addressed to the NNPP national leadership, Odeyemi formally notified the party of his exit and requested the removal of his name from its membership register. He did not state reasons for his decision.

A day later, on July 17, Odeyemi was named the pioneer acting chairman of the DLA in Osun. The appointment, signed by the party’s National Chairman, Samuel Memeh, followed approval by its National Executive Committee.

The party said Odeyemi is tasked with building and strengthening its structure across Osun State, ensuring adherence to its constitution, and reporting activities to the national leadership.

Odeyemi, widely seen as an ally of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, accepted the role, pledging to unify members, promote discipline, and position the DLA as a credible political alternative in the state.

He also assured stakeholders of transparent leadership and called for support for the new party.
