Nigeria Unveils 65 Investment Projects, Targets 7% Growth

The Federal Government has unveiled 65 investment projects across key sectors as Nigeria targets 7 percent economic growth by 2027/2028.

The projects, presented at the ongoing International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group Annual Meetings in Bangkok, Thailand, require an estimated $78.5 billion in capital and are projected to create about 366,763 jobs, according to the Federal Ministry of Finance.

Finance Minister and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, said the investment drive would focus on attracting domestic and foreign capital to boost productivity, create jobs and accelerate economic development.

The projects cover oil and gas, electricity, transport, agriculture, manufacturing, mining, technology, healthcare and urban services. The government has established a dedicated online platform, known as the Deal Room, to connect investors with project sponsors and provide details on funding requirements and investment structures.

Nigeria’s economy grew by 4.43 percent year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, while the government says ongoing reforms have helped moderate inflation and strengthen investor confidence.

Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Olayemi Cardoso said monetary and structural reforms were improving economic resilience, while stressing the importance of controlling inflation and sustaining investment.

The government said further reforms would target electricity supply, agricultural productivity, regulatory bottlenecks and access to reliable economic data to support sustained growth.
