The National Economic Council Implementation Monitoring Committee has commended development projects in Katsina State, particularly its agricultural mechanization initiatives.
The committee, led by Daniel Ikara of the NEC Secretariat, visited the state on Thursday as part of its fifth-phase monitoring exercise covering states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, who received the delegation, said his administration had recorded progress in infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, education, renewable energy, and security.
Governor Radda credited the support of President Bola Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda for the development strides, adding that the four-day visit might not be enough for the team to inspect all projects across the state.
He highlighted the construction of major roads, renovation of primary healthcare facilities, recruitment of teachers and health workers, and investments in agricultural mechanization.
The governor said the state had established an Agricultural Mechanization Centre and deployed more than 400 tractors to support farmers.
He also highlighted investments in renewable energy, water supply, education, digital transformation, and security.
Ikara said the committee had inspected some projects and was impressed with what it had seen, particularly the agricultural mechanization program.
He said the exercise was aimed at assessing the implementation and impact of NEC resolutions and strengthening collaboration between the Federal and state governments.
