Kuje Chairman: Back APC or Leave Area Council

The Chairman of Kuje Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory, Danjuma Samuel Shekwolo, has warned residents against opposing the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a video circulating on social media, Shekwolo said residents who would not support the APC should leave the area council.

He said he would not tolerate opposition to President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, citing projects by the President and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike as reasons residents should support the ruling party.

“I have said in my area council that it’s either you are for the APC or you leave the area council,” he said.

Shekwolo added that he would use his position to resist efforts to work against the APC during the 2027 elections.

The chairman was elected in February 2026 after securing 17,269 votes to defeat PDP candidate Danlami Zakoyi, who polled 15,824 votes.

His remarks come as the APC seeks to consolidate its position in the FCT after winning five of the six area council chairmanship seats in the 2026 elections.
