INEC Lists 15 Bauchi Governorship Candidates, Omits Four Parties

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has excluded governorship candidates of four political parties from its final list for the 2027 Bauchi State governorship election.

The affected parties are the Social Democratic Party (SDP), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Action Alliance (AA), and Accord Party.

INEC published the list of candidates and their running mates on its official website on Saturday, October 10, listing 15 candidates to contest the election to succeed Governor Bala Mohammed. The list includes candidates from the All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), African Democratic Congress (ADC), and Labour Party, among others.

Reports indicate that the four parties had previously submitted their candidates and running mates to the commission. However, their names were absent from the final list, which did not state the reasons for their exclusion.

The omission leaves uncertainty over the affected parties’ participation in the election, pending further clarification from INEC.
