Bose Ogulu, mother and manager of Afrobeats star Burna Boy, has revealed that she sometimes takes her son’s phone when he becomes too outspoken during Instagram Live sessions.
Bose Ogulu made the disclosure during an interview with media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Channels Television, where she discussed Burna Boy’s personality and his controversial moments online.
She said she has learned to allow the singer to remain himself, noting that the traits behind some of his controversial behaviour are also part of what fans admire about him.
“You can always notice the difference between when I tweet and when Burna tweets,” she said, describing artists like her son as a “tapestry” that could unravel if one aspect of their personality is pulled too hard.
Bose Ogulu added: “I usually grab his phone from him anytime he goes wild on Instagram Live.”
Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, is known for his outspoken personality and has frequently attracted attention for his comments and interactions during social media livestreams.
Bose Ogulu has managed her son’s career for years and has previously spoken about balancing her roles as his mother and manager.
