Governor Radda: Katsina IGR Climbs to N3bn Monthly

Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has disclosed that the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) has risen from N600 million monthly in 2023 to more than N3 billion in 2026.

Governor Radda made the disclosure on Thursday at the launch of the World Bank’s October 2026 Nigeria Development Update in Abuja, themed “Beyond the Federal Purse: How Higher Revenues Reshaped State Priorities.”

He said the increase in revenue, alongside higher Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) receipts following the Federal Government’s economic reforms, had enabled the state to increase spending on key sectors.

Governor Radda said the administration had reconstructed and equipped more than 270 primary healthcare centers, upgraded six comprehensive health centers to general hospitals, deployed 15 advanced ambulances, and recruited more than 2,000 healthcare workers.

In education, he said the state had built more than 170 schools, renovated over 500 others, recruited more than 10,000 teachers, and trained over 25,000 teachers.

Governor Radda also highlighted investments in agricultural mechanization, including more than 400 tractors and other equipment, while saying over 1,000 youths had received agribusiness training and funding.

On fiscal management, Governor Radda said Katsina’s domestic debt had fallen from N62 billion in 2022 to N14 billion in 2025. He also said malnutrition had declined by seven percent, while the number of out-of-school children had dropped from more than 500,000 to about 200,000.

The World Bank event featured Governor Radda alongside Finance Minister Taiwo Oyedele, CBN Deputy Governor Lamido Yuguda, and NESG Chief Executive Officer Tayo Aduloju.
