Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid and the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the state, Kingsley Chinda.
The governor also announced his alignment with the Rainbow Coalition, a political alliance led by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Fubara made the announcement on Wednesday during the foundation-laying ceremony of the Rivien Medical Industry project in Rumuosi, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
Addressing supporters at the event, he urged them to join him in the coalition, describing the move as a return to his political roots.
“I am supporting President Tinubu for the presidency and Kingsley Chinda to be the next Governor of Rivers State,” Fubara said. “I am part of the Rainbow Coalition, and I’m back to my political family.”
The development signals a significant political shift in Rivers State ahead of upcoming elections.
