From Ekiti to Abuja: Fayose Named REA Chair in Tinubu’s Big Move

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved 26 new appointments across 10 federal government agencies and commissions, naming former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose as chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) board.

The appointments, announced in Abuja by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, take immediate effect.

Fayose will lead the REA board alongside newly appointed members, while existing executives—including Director-General Abba Abubakar Aliyu, remain in place.

In a parallel move, Junaid Bindawa was appointed chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, with several commissioners and officials also named.

Other key appointments include:

  • Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission
  • Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc
  • Anthony Inalegwu Godwin as Chairman/CEO of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission

The President also reconstituted the board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, appointing Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as chairman.

According to the presidency, the appointments are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and improve institutional effectiveness across key sectors.
