Several communities in Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State have been cut off following the collapse of a section of the Zagah–Suntai Road.

The road, which serves as a key route linking communities to other parts of the state, became impassable after a section that had earlier deteriorated was washed away.
Residents said the collapse has disrupted the movement of people and goods, leaving motorists stranded and affecting access to markets, schools, and other essential services.
The councillor representing Suntai Ward, Daniel Ayuba, appealed to the Federal and Taraba State governments to urgently repair the damaged section and restore movement along the route.
Residents said they had raised concerns over the deteriorating road before its eventual collapse, warning that the situation could worsen if left unattended.
The development comes as Taraba continues to grapple with the effects of the 2024 collapse of the Namnai Bridge in Gassol Local Government Area, another critical transport link in the state.
The North-East Development Commission began reconstruction of the Namnai Bridge earlier this year, while the contractor handling the project has dismissed recent claims that work was abandoned.
