An Enugu Air aircraft veered off the runway after landing at Benin Airport on Thursday, with all passengers and crew safely evacuated and no injuries reported.

The incident, known in aviation as a runway excursion, involved one of the airline’s Embraer regional jets recently added to its fleet.
In a statement, Enugu Air confirmed the aircraft left the runway after touchdown and that aviation authorities have been notified.
“All passengers and crew disembarked safely, and there were no injuries or casualties. The aircraft has been secured, and an assessment is underway,” the airline said.
The carrier added that the incident may lead to temporary flight schedule adjustments, with affected passengers to be contacted directly.
Videos shared on social media showed the aircraft off the runway, initially sparking reports of a crash landing. However, the airline clarified that the situation was a runway excursion, not a crash.
The cause of the incident has not yet been determined. Aviation authorities are expected to conduct a full investigation.
