Dating in Nigeria Is Extreme Sports’ — Doyin Speaks on Relationships

Reality TV star Doyin David has said she is willing to be submissive in a relationship if she finds the right partner, despite her strong personality and high standards.

Speaking on Thanks For Coming, a dating-themed talk show hosted by Grand Prince Ita, Doyin shared insights into her love life, relationship expectations, and personal values.

Known for her outspoken nature since her time on Big Brother Naija, she admitted that her personality can sometimes intimidate others. “I make most people nervous,” she said during the interview.

Doyin also revealed that she has taken a break from dating, describing the Nigerian dating scene as “hectic” and “like extreme sports.”

While projecting confidence publicly, she emphasized her openness to vulnerability in a healthy relationship. “I will be submissive for the right man,” she said, noting that attentiveness and willingness to improve are key qualities she values in a partner.

She further criticized what she described as a common tendency among men to prioritize physical intimacy over meaningful connection. According to her, understanding and respect should come before sexual expectations.

Her remarks have since sparked conversations on social media, particularly around modern relationship roles, expectations, and gender dynamics.
