Former Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal is set to join LaLiga rivals Getafe as a free agent, subject to approval from the league.

The 34-year-old has completed his medical and agreed terms with Getafe after leaving Real Madrid when his contract expired at the end of June.
Getafe president Ángel Torres confirmed that the club is working to complete the deal, with LaLiga approval over the club’s salary-cap limits the only major hurdle remaining.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also reported that Getafe had reached a verbal agreement with Carvajal and were ready to announce the signing once LaLiga gives the green light.
Carvajal spent 13 seasons with Real Madrid’s first team, making 451 appearances and winning 27 trophies, including six Champions League titles.
His move to Getafe would allow the Spain international to continue his career in LaLiga and remain in the Madrid area.
