Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s resolve to tackle terrorism, banditry and other forms of insecurity, stressing that the Federal Government will not yield to threats against national peace.

The President’s message was delivered by George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, during a national interdenominational church service held at the National Christian Centre in Abuja to mark the 2026 Democracy Day celebrations.
Speaking on behalf of the President, Akume noted that the government is intensifying security operations across the country while prioritising efforts to rescue citizens held by criminal groups.
He emphasised that recent incidents of violence and abductions underscore the need for sustained and coordinated action by security agencies.
According to the statement, safeguarding lives and property remains a central objective of the administration.
The President also acknowledged the economic pressures facing Nigerians, including inflation and displacement, assuring citizens that measures are being implemented to address these challenges and improve living conditions.
