Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is reportedly targeting Stuttgart defender Finn Jeltsch ahead of the January transfer window, with Real Madrid also linked with the German youngster.

According to Spanish newspaper Diario SPORT, Flick has identified the 20-year-old centre-back as a priority signing as Barcelona look to strengthen their defence.
The reported interest comes amid injury concerns at the Catalan club, with Andreas Christensen sidelined and Jules Kounde and Eric Garcia also suffering injuries. Reuters reported on October 18 that both Kounde and Garcia were facing absences ahead of Barcelona’s crucial fixtures.
Jeltsch, who plays for VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga, received his first senior Germany national team call-up in September 2026. Stuttgart’s official website confirmed his inclusion in the squad announced by head coach Jürgen Klopp.
Reports suggest Stuttgart value the defender at around €50 million, although other reports have put the asking price as high as €60 million. Barcelona’s reported interest has yet to result in a confirmed deal, and it remains unclear whether the club will make a formal move in January.
