Nigerian Afrobeats star Ayra Starr has disclosed that she recently underwent a complicated major surgery, explaining her brief disappearance from social media.
The singer, who had been inactive online for about a week, returned on Wednesday before addressing concerned fans via her Instagram Story on Thursday.
Apologizing for her absence, Ayra Starr revealed that although she initially expected a quick recovery, the procedure turned out to be more complex than anticipated.
“I had major surgery a few days ago. I was hoping it would be a quick recovery, but it was more complicated than they expected,” she said.
She added that she is currently resting and assured fans she would return soon.
“I just need a bit of rest, and I’ll be back,” she stated.
The update comes amid concern from fans, popularly known as “Mobstarrs,” who had noticed her sudden silence online.
