Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina has dismissed suggestions of a move to Arsenal, joking that he is “too old” to join the North London side.

The 29-year-old made the remark in a video that surfaced on Tuesday after a Nigerian fan asked if he would consider signing for the Gunners. “I’m too old for Arsenal,” Aina said with a smile.
Aina has been with Nottingham Forest since 2023, following a transfer from Torino. He previously featured for Fulham during the 2020/21 season and came through the academy at Chelsea.
Looking ahead, the Nigeria international has set a personal target of scoring at least five goals in the 2026/27 season after failing to score in the previous campaign. Aina made 28 appearances last season, registering one assist, including in a 2–1 UEFA Europa League defeat to Fenerbahçe.
“I need to do some serious prayer and fasting because I need at least five goals,” he said.
Aina was previously linked with a move to Manchester City during the January 2025 transfer window after an impressive 2024/25 season, where he recorded two goals and one assist in 35 league appearances.
