Nigerian singer Crayon has challenged a social media user who described his public appreciation of fellow artist Mr. Eazi as “gay,” questioning why the term should be considered an insult.

Crayon had taken to X to appreciate Mr. Eazi for his support, advice, and concern throughout the year, describing him as someone he cherished and did not want to lose.
However, a user identified as Ije Awele criticized the post, urging the singer to delete it.
“Ngozi, delete this. “This post is gay af bro,” the user wrote.
Responding, Crayon questioned the criticism, asking, “And what is wrong with Gay?”
The singer also accused the critic of discrimination and challenged the user’s authority to dictate what he should post, ending his response with, “Assistant Jesus?”
The exchange has since attracted reactions on social media, with several users weighing in on the singer’s response and his decision to publicly appreciate Mr Eazi.
