Nollywood actress Damilola Adegbite has observed what she described as a changing trend in Nigeria’s dating scene, with younger men increasingly showing interest in older women.
Adegbite made the comment during a recent episode of her podcast, shared on her YouTube channel.
The 41-year-old actress said society had traditionally made women feel they should leave the dating scene after reaching a certain age, while younger women received more attention.
She, however, said that perception appears to be changing, as younger men are becoming more open about their attraction to women in their late 30s and 40s.
Using an analogy from Psalm 118:22, Adegbite jokingly described older women who were once overlooked as the “premium package.”
She said a younger man could approach a woman aged 38, 40, or 42 and confidently express his interest, adding that such boldness could itself be attractive.
Adegbite said, “But now, the tables are turning. The older woman who was once overlooked has become the premium package.”
She added that younger men were now more confident about pursuing older women despite the age difference.
