Manchester City have confirmed that new signing Enzo Fernández will wear the No. 17 shirt following his £125 million move from Chelsea.
The 25-year-old Argentina midfielder joined City on a five-year contract on transfer deadline day, with the fee matching the British transfer record.
Fernández will reunite with City manager Enzo Maresca, who previously coached him at Chelsea.
The No. 17 shirt was famously worn by former City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne during his decade-long spell at the club. Before De Bruyne, the number was worn by Sun Jihai and Martin Petrov.
Fernández was one of two deadline-day arrivals at City, alongside Iliman Ndiaye from Everton.
