Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has denied claims that he entered into an agreement with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to secure victory in the state’s governorship election.

The denial followed a claim by ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, that the party worked with the Accord Party to prevent the All Progressives Congress (APC) from winning the election.
However, Adeleke, through his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, said ADC was not part of the political alliance that supported his re-election bid.
The governor credited his victory to God and the people of Osun State while appreciating political allies who supported his campaign.
“I commend political partners who went all out to make Saturday a victory day for all Osun people. But we must clarify for the sake of history that ADC was never part of the alliance,” Adeleke said.
He added that, following the election, he remained governor for all residents of the state, regardless of their political affiliation, religion, or background.
“Now that the election is over, I am a governor of all Osun people irrespective of political groups, religion, or race,” he said.
Adeleke had contested the election on the Accord platform, while ADC fielded former Osun House of Assembly Speaker Najeem Salam as its candidate.
