Governor Radda Calls for APC Unity in Katsina Ahead of 2027

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Mai’adua Local Government Area to remain united and work together to drive development in the state.

The governor made the call on Friday while receiving a delegation of APC stakeholders from Mai’adua at the Government House in Katsina during a thank-you visit.

Governor Radda stressed the importance of unity within the party, noting that candidates for National Assembly positions emerged through a democratic primary process. He reassured members who did not secure nominations that they remain valued and would still be considered in his administration.

“Our strength lies in our unity. I urge all stakeholders to set aside differences and work together for the progress of Mai’adua and Katsina State, as well as the success of the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections,” he said.

The governor also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for increased federal allocations to states, describing it as a boost for implementing people-focused projects.

He assured the delegation that their requests would be reviewed, with some projects potentially integrated into ongoing programs, including the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP).

Speaking earlier, APC stakeholders’ chairman in Mai’adua, Yau Umar Gwajo-Gwajo, said the visit was to appreciate the governor’s development efforts. He highlighted the construction of a hospital and the ongoing Mai’adua International Market as key projects expected to boost economic activity and create jobs.

Other speakers, including local government officials and party leaders, pledged continued support for the APC and the governor’s administration. They also appealed for additional funding to address outstanding contractor payments and called for the establishment of a meat processing factory in the area.

Top government officials, including the Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Nasir Yahya Daura, attended the meeting.
