The rehabilitation of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in Wamakko, Sokoto State, has reached about 80 percent completion, officials have said.

The ₦1.7 billion project, awarded by the Sokoto State Government to SBG Enterprises and Construction Limited, is aimed at upgrading the camp to modern standards and improving living conditions for corps members.
Project Coordinator Architect Murtala Haliru Rabah disclosed the progress during a site inspection, expressing confidence that the contractor would meet the completion deadline.
He said the work aligns with approved specifications and includes improved accommodation, administrative buildings, and other key facilities to enhance safety, comfort, and overall welfare.
Rabah also commended the contractor for maintaining quality standards and a steady pace of work, noting that the upgrade would enable the state to accommodate more corps members and improve orientation activities.
A visit to the site showed extensive work across major structures, with construction ongoing around the clock.
A representative of the contractor, Kaseem Bello, assured that the project would be delivered within the six-month timeline.
The renovation is part of broader infrastructure investments by the Sokoto State Government, which has approved funding for the upgrade of public facilities, including NYSC camps, to strengthen service delivery.
