Nigeria’s Super Falcons will be without defender Oluwatosin Demehin and midfielder Jennifer Echegini for their decisive Group C match against Egypt at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Both players are suspended following Nigeria’s 1-0 win over Zambia on Saturday. The victory helped the nine-time champions bounce back from an earlier shock defeat to Malawi and kept their qualification hopes alive.
Demehin was sent off in the 40th minute against Zambia after bringing down captain Barbra Banda, who was through on goal. The straight red card rules her out of the Egypt fixture.
Echegini will also miss the match after receiving her second yellow card of the tournament, triggering an automatic one-game suspension under Confederation of African Football (CAF) regulations.
Nigeria now faces Egypt in a must-win encounter, with a place in the knockout stage at stake.
