Rufai Oseni, an anchor with Arise Television, has criticized Remi Tinubu over her recent call for Nigerian musicians to spend less on luxury and give more to charity.
In a post shared on X on Sunday, Oseni argued that public officials should demonstrate accountability before making such appeals. He specifically questioned the size of government convoys, suggesting they be reduced as a show of commitment to public welfare.
His comments followed remarks by the First Lady at the launch of the National Community Food Bank in Lokoja, Kogi State. At the event, she urged top artistes, including Davido, Burna Boy, and Asake, to invest more in charitable initiatives to support vulnerable Nigerians.
The First Lady noted that addressing poverty requires collective effort, adding that the government cannot shoulder the responsibility alone.
