Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Wizkid has stirred fresh debate among fans after a remark made during his performance at Afro Nation Portugal.

The Afrobeats star, who headlined the final day of the three-day festival, told the crowd, “This is why you save the best for the last,” a statement many have interpreted as a subtle jab at fellow Nigerian artist Burna Boy.
Burna Boy had earlier opened the festival as the first-day headliner, a role some fans argued reflected his global dominance and star power.
Wizkid’s comment, however, has since gone viral on social media, reigniting long-standing comparisons between the two global stars over influence and performance hierarchy.
The development comes months after reports of tension between both camps, including an incident involving Burna Boy and Wizkid’s associate, DJ Tunez, in Lagos.
Neither artist has directly addressed the latest controversy, but fan reactions continue to drive the conversation online.
