Crystal Palace Edge Rayo Vallecano to Clinch Historic European Title

Crystal Palace secured their first European trophy after defeating Rayo Vallecano 1-0 in the UEFA Conference League final held in Leipzig on Wednesday.

The decisive moment came early in the second half when Jean-Philippe Mateta converted a rebound in the 51st minute to seal victory.

The match was largely balanced in the opening period, with limited scoring opportunities for either side before Palace broke the deadlock after the restart.

The triumph marks a significant milestone for the club and caps a successful tenure for head coach Oliver Glasner, who departs after overseeing one of the most productive eras in the team’s history.

The victory also ensures Palace’s return to European competition next season, following their earlier demotion from the Europa League due to regulatory issues.

Despite facing squad changes during the campaign, the team delivered a consistent performance to conclude their European journey with silverware.
