FG, States and LGs Share N1.969trn December 2025 Allocation

The Federal Government, state governments, and local government councils have shared a total of N1.969 trillion as revenue for December 2025.

This information by the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation was released in a statement by the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) after its January meeting.

According to the communiqué, the money shared came from three main sources:

  • Statutory revenue: N1.084 trillion
  • Value Added Tax (VAT): N846.507 billion
  • Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL): N38.110 billion

In total, N2.585 trillion was generated as gross revenue in December 2025. From this amount, N104.697 billion was deducted as the cost of collecting revenue, while N511.585 billion went into transfers, refunds, and savings.

The statement explained that statutory revenue for December stood at N1.631 trillion, which was N105.202 billion lower than the amount recorded in November 2025. However, VAT revenue rose sharply to N913.957 billion, an increase of N350.915 billion compared to November.

From the N1.969 trillion shared, the Federal Government received N653.500 billion, state governments got N706.469 billion, and local governments received N513.272 billion. In addition, N96.083 billion, representing 13 per cent of mineral revenue, was shared among oil-producing states as derivation funds.

Breaking it down further, from the N1.084 trillion statutory revenue, the Federal Government received N520.807 billion, states got N264.160 billion, and local governments received N203.656 billion.

From the VAT revenue of N846.507 billion, the Federal Government received N126.976 billion, states got N423.254 billion, and local governments received N296.277 billion.

For the N38.110 billion EMTL, the Federal Government received N5.717 billion, states got N19.055 billion, and local governments received N13.338 billion.

The communiqué also noted that in December 2025, revenue from Companies Income Tax, Import Duty, and VAT increased significantly. Meanwhile, Oil and Gas Royalty, CET levies, and fees recorded slight increases, while Excise Duty, Petroleum Profit Tax, and EMTL dropped sharply.
