2027: Lamido Urges Nigerians to Reject APC

Former Jigawa State Governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Sule Lamido, has urged Nigerians not to repeat what he described as the mistake of voting for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in previous elections.

Lamido spoke at the inauguration of the PDP Campaign Council at the party’s state headquarters in Dutse, Jigawa State, where he urged voters to compare the records of previous PDP administrations with those of the current government ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He accused the APC-led administration of failing to meet Nigerians’ expectations, citing challenges in healthcare, education and other critical sectors.

Lamido said Jigawa and Nigeria needed experienced and competent leaders to address the country’s challenges.

He also described the PDP as a major force in Nigeria’s political history, expressing confidence that the party would remain relevant and compete for elective offices at all levels in 2027.

The former governor pledged that the PDP would conduct peaceful campaigns focused on restoring good governance and public confidence in leadership, without insults, intimidation or personal attacks.

His remarks come as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 elections. The PDP in Jigawa has also established a campaign structure to coordinate its mobilization efforts ahead of the polls.
